PIA Performs Successful Flight Test In Balochistan

Pakistan International Airlines is the country's flagship carrier that has recently tested a flight in Saindak Town in Balochistan successfully.

PIA and a New Runway in Balochistan

The officials from the Pakistan International Airline shared the news that the country's flagship carrier has recently operated a successful test flight. It took place at a newly built runway by China in Saindak Town. It is a mineral-rich region of the province of Balochistan, and Chinese media have also shared this news. The Airport of this area is known as Juzzak Airport, located in the Chagai district of the country's biggest province.

It is important to note that the Juzzak Airport is made operation to facilitate Chinese engineers to take PIA flights to work on the projects taking place in that specific region. The flights usually take off from Karachi and land in that newly-built airport. Moreover, the license of the airstrip has also been renewed in the last month (August 2021).


CPEC and Gwadar Airport

The Parliamentary Committee of CPEC (China Pakistan Economic Corridor) was informed last month that the progress on the NGIA (New Gwadar International Airport) is going smoothly. It was also mentioned that everything is ideally on track, and the new Gwadar International Airport will be completed and go fully functional in September 2023.

In the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee that Mr. Sher Ali Arbab led, the secretary of the Aviation Division of the country briefed the whole panel about the project. The secretary mentioned that the previously estimated project to be completed by the following year had been postponed. Now it will be completed by October 2023.

New Time Limit of the Gwadar Airport Project

The CACG (Chinese Construction Group) has also informed the PCAA (Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority) regarding the new time limit of the project mentioned above because the Chinese company has put it on hold.

According to the latest news and documents, the terminal constructed for the passengers will now be completed by June 2023. Moreover, it is estimated that all the work related to air traffic control will be completed in March by 2023, and the overall construction work of the entire project will be completed by October 2023.
